They also have a minimum NPK of 9-0-2. They can hold between 20%-30% of their weight in water, meaning that you may have to water plants a bit less often and they can help retain soil moisture in potted plants. Up to 50% of the weight of wool is carbon, which, when buried in garden soil, improves nutrient uptake by plant roots but also aids in improving soil tilth. Raw Wool Fertilizer Pellets break down in the soil and will slowly feed plant nutrients over a period of up to 6 months.
